VELVET SPLASH (Sire-Snowmass Velvet Touche)

This young male created quite a stir at shearing time. Shearing came to a halt as everyone took a break to look at his fleece as it came off. With each blade stroke, it appeared as if dark butter was melting away, with the brightness so intense we had to turn out a light. The PBR Breeze certainly was blowing in the right direction. Velvet Splash proves that genetics don’t change with age. At age seven, he is the fineness alpaca on the ranch, with an afd of 19 microns. His pedigree couldn’t be better..Snowmass Velvet Touche on the top and Majestic Peruvian Jeremiah on the bottom. My breeding decisions for him are endless and very exciting!!! In 2015 Happy Hounds Alpaca Ranch decided to bring a herdsire of the highest quality into their herd. They pulled the trigger and bought half interest (proudly co-owned with Snowmass Alpacas LLC) in Snowmass Velvet Touché, son of Snowmass Touché (Sire) and Snowmass Color Champion, 2011 Futurity Brown Futurity Color Champion, 2013 IAO Brown Color Champion, 2014 Futurity Light Herdsire of the Year, 2015 Futurity Reserve Light Herdsire of the Year, 2015 Futurity 1st Place Get of Sire Dark. Pretty impressing!!!!!

Jeremiah's Peruvian Black Silk, Velvet Splash's dam, is the beautiful full Peruvian BLACK daughter of Peruvian Bree and 11X Champion Majestic Peruvian Jeremiah. She has great conformation, zipper crimp and is incredibly dense.
